BHSA COMMITTEE ROLES

Below are the available volunteer roles within the BHSA committee. While each role has clearly defined objectives, we understand that flexibility is important. Each year, minor adjustments may be made to accommodate the needs and availability of our volunteers. All volunteers are expected to either lead or support an event or fundraising activity.

Chair(s)

The Chair works closely with the school to develop, oversee, and coordinate the BHSA’s overall strategy, plans, and operations. This role provides leadership and direction across all community events and fundraising initiatives for both the junior and senior schools. The Chair also leads the termly Zoom meetings with all parents and serves as the main point of contact for both the school and the parent community.

This role can be shared between 2 parents.

Vice Chair(s)

The Vice Chair works in partnership with the Chair to support the overall strategy, operations, and initiatives of the BHSA. This role manages the BHSA Rep community, ensuring all year groups are represented and that parents stay connected to BHSA activities and are supported through strong pastoral care. The Vice Chair also plays a key role in welcoming new parents to the school, working closely with the Admissions Officers to help them feel part of the community from the outset. The Vice Chair also works closely with the Coffee Shop volunteers.

This role can be split between two parents.

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the BHSA, ensuring all activity aligns with the charity’s constitution. This includes managing accounts, banking, and termly financial reporting, which is shared during BHSA meetings. The Treasurer also liaises with external auditors, oversees relationships with fundraising platforms such as Easy Fundraising, and supports event pricing. Additionally, they manage payment facilities including SumUp and Stripe.

Honorary Secretary

The Honorary Secretary is responsible for governance and ensuring the BHSA operates in compliance with its constitution. This role manages the distribution of key documents, communication of essential information, and provides general administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the charity.

Events Coordinator
(Junior School)

Ideal for those who wish to support specific events, the Events Coordinator helps ensure the smooth running of selected BHSA events at the junior school. This includes developing volunteer engagement within the parent community and managing logistics for the events they support. While not responsible for every event, the Coordinator focuses on ensuring that the events they are involved in run smoothly.

Pre-Loved Uniform Coordinator

The Uniform Coordinator encourages and sorts donations of good-quality, pre-loved uniforms that meet current guidelines. This role manages the organisation of the stock cupboard, ensuring orders are fulfilled promptly. The coordinator is also responsible for responding to parent queries related to uniform donations or purchases.
